Interdisciplinary Grant

Are you a maker whose practice is not confined to a single discipline, and would you like to further develop your interdisciplinary practice? Or are you part of an organisation seeking funding for a project focused on integrating different disciplines? If so, you may be eligible for the new Interdisciplinary Grant offered by the national cultural funds.

This grant is a collaboration between the Mondriaan Fund, Netherlands Film Fund, Performing Arts Fund NL, Dutch Foundation for Literature, Fund for Cultural Participation and Creative Industries Fund NL. The national cultural funds have a strong tradition of supporting interdisciplinarity, including through initiatives such as De (Korte) Verbeelding film grant, the Werkbijdrage theatertekst and the Literatuur op het Scherm interdisciplinary programme. The new Interdisciplinary Grant complements these initiatives. Through this grant, the six national cultural funds aim to support professional makers and organisations so that their work is better aligned with the funds’ programmes.

Please note that the Mondriaan Fund acts as the lead fund for this grant. All applications must therefore be submitted through the Mondriaan Fund website and application system. The advisory committee consists of members with expertise across all disciplines.

For whom?

The Interdisciplinary Grant consists of two tracks:

  • One for individual makers based in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom with at least 1 year of demonstrable professional interdisciplinary practice: a fixed contribution of 24,900 euros is available to further develop their interdisciplinary practice over a period of 1 year.
  •  One for non-profit cultural organisations with legal personality, based in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, that develop projects in which artistic disciplines supported by multiple funds are integrated. The contribution depends on the total project budget: a fixed contribution of 12,500 euros is available for a project with a budget of 15,000 to 60,000 euros, and a fixed contribution of 50,000 euros for a project with a budget of 60,000 to 500,000 euros.
