Laura Roling studied Classics and English at the University of Amsterdam. After graduating, she wrote about opera, music and theatre for various media outlets. She also worked for various theatres and groups, including the Flemish Cultural Centre De Brakke Grond and choreographer Jelena Kostić. Since 2020, she has been working as a dramaturg at Dutch National Opera, where she has collaborated with Steef de Jong, Kirill Serebrennikov and Barrie Kosky, amongst others.
