From 2 to 14 July, the 36th edition of Julidans takes place in theatres and venues across Amsterdam. With International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA) as its festival hub, the programme extends from Bijlmer Parktheater and Meervaart to Frascati, the Stedelijk Museum, the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre and, new this year, De Brakke Grond.
During the festival, a visitors programme is organised for international programmers and artistic directors. Participants can put together a personalised schedule based on five performance packages combining Dutch and international work, with particular attention to the programme presented within Julidans NL.
The programme includes two networking sessions featuring presentations and pitches of new projects by dance makers (5 July, 1.00–3.00 pm and 8 July, 12.00–2.00 pm). In addition, Julidans facilitates one-to-one meetings between Dutch makers and international programmers, acting as a matchmaker.
Julidans NL presents work by makers who live and work in the Netherlands. The programme ranges from established names such as Emio Greco & Pieter C. Scholten (ICK Amsterdam), Nicole Beutler and Kalpana Raghuraman to a new generation of makers including Andreas Hannes, Melyn Chow, Connor Schumacher, Reza Mirabi, Sheree Lenting, Elsa ‘Zema’ Mulder and Ivan Chang.
