Applications can be submitted by Dutch cultural organizations on behalf of and in collaboration with an individual artist or a group. The Dutch organization or legal entity can either submit applications for up to five individual creators or one application for a group of up to 10 people. All disciplines are eligible: film, performing arts, visual arts, creative industries (including architecture and design), cultural education, cultural heritage, and literature.

The Support Programme is intended for cultural and creative creators with a Ukrainian passport who were living in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 and are now living in the Netherlands as refugees or who are coming to the Netherlands for the project for which the application is submitted. A total of €180,000 is available. Each creator can receive a maximum of €9,000. This will enable at least 18 refuged artists to continue their professional work.

During the previous round of the Support Programme for Ukrainian Artists in 2024, more than €458,000 in subsidies was distributed, supporting a total of 59 creators across all disciplines. Various creators in the performing arts (34), film (12), and visual arts (9) were supported, as well as in design and digital arts (4), cultural participation and education (3), and literature (1).

The budget for the Support Programme is provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The scheme is administered by the Dutch Foundation for Literature, in collaboration with fellow national cultural funds (Mondriaan Fund, Netherlands Film Fund, Creative Industries Fund NL, Performing Arts Fund NL, and Fund for Cultural Participation).

Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. The date of receipt is the date the application is fully completed. The programmes are open (at the latest) until 1 November 2024 or as long as the budget lasts.
