Fonds Podiumkunsten regularly organises visitor programmes for international programmers and other professionals in the field. During these programmes, they become acquainted with Dutch artists and the performing arts landscape in the Netherlands. The aim is to build new connections and increase international opportunities for Dutch artists to present their work abroad.
This spring, the Fund is organising visitor programmes at Cinedans and Rewire.
Cinedans is a festival where dance, film, the creative industries and technology come together; innovation and experimentation are at the heart of this international festival. Alongside a focus on India and the work of American artist Celia Rowlson Hall, the programme gives significant attention to Dutch dance film. Two New Dutch programmes feature 22 dance films by, among others, Melissa Diktas, Miri Lee, 155, Simon Bus and Aleysia Dobysh. The feature-length documentary about choreographer and dancer Christian Guerematchi, Non Aligned Movement (2026), will also be screened. The film follows his search for acceptance in the world around him.
A number of Dutch films are included both in the New Dutch selection and in the international competition, where they compete for the jury awards. The festival also hosts talks and exchanges about the dance film genre.
During the visitor programme, twelve international programmers and other professionals meet Dutch artists and sector professionals. They come from countries including Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and use the festival to build new connections.
At Rewire, a music festival for adventurous music, we also organise a visitor programme together with the festival for twenty international programmers.
During the visitor programme, the programmers discover a selection of Dutch contemporary, experimental and electronic music, as well as sound installations. The programme includes work by M Alberto, Thomas Ankersmit, Zeno van den Broek & HIIIT, Modelo62 & Sól Ey, CelloOctet and artists from iii.
The programme is designed to stimulate meetings and build relationships between Dutch artists and international programmers. The visitors come from Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and England. For many of them, this is their first in-depth introduction to the Dutch scene.
