VIKTORIEN VAN HULST NEW DIRECTOR OF PERFORMING ARTS FUND NL FROM 1 JULY

Viktorien van Hulst (1972) will become the new director of the Performing Arts Fund NL on 1 July of this year. She succeeds Henriëtte Post (1956), who announced her departure at the end of last year after holding the position for more than 13 years.

Viktorien van Hulst is currently the director of Theaterfestival Boulevard ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which was awarded the Prijs van de Kritiek in 2020. As intendant of the Fast Forward programme, which helps talented makers develop their practice on the international stage, she has already been working with the Performing Arts Fund NL.

Kete Kervezee, chair of the Fund’s Supervisory Board: “Viktorien van Hulst has extensive experience in the field, both in her role as director of Theaterfestival Boulevard, her board membership of Kunsten ’92, her involvement with the Verenigde Podiumkunstenfestivals, and in other local and national roles. We are extremely grateful to Henriëtte Post for her inspiring and professional commitment to the performing arts, and are fully confident that Viktorien van Hulst will be able to continue the Fund’s course in her own way.”

The challenges facing the arts sector have been exposed more harshly by the current corona pandemic. Sector actors and policy makers need to work together to develop new forms of a supportive and inclusive system. I wish to contribute to this endeavour as the director of the Performing Arts Fund NL.”

The Performing Arts Fund NL is the Dutch national culture fund for music, music theatre, dance, theatre and festivals, and manages a budget of 62 million euros. On behalf of the national government, the Fund provides support to all forms of professional performing arts and is also responsible for the implementation of various corona-related support schemes.
