| Annelies Verbeke has won the Toneelschrijfprijs (Playwriting Award ) 2025 for her text ‘Wunderbaum speelt live (online gaat het mis)’. She received the prize on 9 September 2025 during the Sector Awards ceremony at the TheaterFestival in Ghent.

CPFE convention |
| | | | Last Monday, staff members of the Performing Arts Fund NL attended the 7th edition of the Congres Podia Festivals Evenementen (CPFE) 2025 (a convention for professionals working in performance venues, festivals and events ). The themes that featured prominently this year – from sustainability, modern employment practices and artistic freedom to programming in polarised times – demonstrated the versatility and resilience of the sector.
The informal speed date session offered an opportunity for visitors to talk to staff members of the Performing Arts Fund NL. We also presented the new scheme, Programme and Presentation Grant . More about this later. |

Ivre de Mots campaign
Dutch-language theatre in France |
| | | The Ivre de Mots campaign put Dutch-language theatre in the spotlight during the French theatre festival Mousson d’été, last August. The programme featured two readings of new translations and a panel discussion about Flemish and Dutch theatre text. Also, a practical guide was launched for Dutch and Flemish makers wanting to take their work to the French stage.

| | | | | With the support of the Performing Arts Fund NL, the September Me Festival (Ragazze Kwartet), Muziekgebouw, Nederlands Kamerkoor, New European Ensemble and Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest have teamed up to organise an international visitors’ programme. Intended for programmers at festivals and venues in surrounding countries, the programme offers an excellent overview of much of the adventurous classical, contemporary and cross-over musical scene in the Netherlands. In addition to the organising partners, the programme gives lots of other established Dutch ensembles, makers, composers and emerging talents the opportunity to present themselves.

Getting to know Dutch Jazz: Visitors’ programme during October Jazz Month
From 3 to 5 October, the the Performing Arts Fund NL is organising an international visitors’ programme, welcoming a group of around 12 programmers from European jazz festivals and venues to the Netherlands to explore the Dutch jazz scene. The guests will be offered a tailor-made programme, including visits to several jazz venues in Amsterdam. The group will also attend the first edition of the Orange Jazz Days at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, a new festival entirely dedicated to contemporary Dutch jazz. Naturally, the guests will have plenty of opportunities to experience live music; in addition, ample time is reserved for informal conversations, both in studios and at the InJazz Bar in Utrecht. The program was created in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg, Buma Cultuur and the Bimhuis , where on October 5 a free concert open to everyone will take place.
