The director of the Performing Arts Fund NL, Henriëtte Post (1956), has announced that she will step down on 1 May 2021. It brings to a close more than 13 years of directing the national culture fund, which manages a budget of 62 million euros.
‘We are extremely grateful to Henriëtte Post for the way she has directed the Fund’, says Kete Kervezee, chair of the Supervisory Board. ‘Since 2008, Henriëtte has helped create an organisation that means much more to both the national government and performing artists than just a grant-dispensing entity. She has always managed to engage all stakeholders in a systematic and constructive dialogue. She has also shown great skill in navigating between the policy goals on the one hand, and the needs of makers and their organisations on the other.’

Personally, Post can look back on a turbulent and challenging period. ‘The Fund must remain responsive at all times to developments in the sector and to political realities. I have hugely enjoyed working on behalf of a performing arts sector that is of great value and significance to society. I am very sorry to see how cultural life has been brought to a virtual standstill by the corona pandemic, but I also see lots of resilience and inventiveness in the sector. And that’s a source of hope and confidence for the future.’ Post sees the start of the new cultural policy period as the right moment to pass the baton to her successor. ‘I leave behind a passionate organisation with many skilled staff members.’

The Performing Arts Fund NL is the national culture fund for music, music theatre, dance, theatre and festivals in the Nerherlands. On behalf of the national government, the Fund provides support to all forms of professional performing arts. The Supervisory Board will soon start the recruitment procedure for a new director.
