HENRIËTTE POST TO LEAVE FUND PERFORMING ARTS NL
26 November 2020
The director of the Performing Arts Fund NL, Henriëtte Post (1956), has announced that she will step down on 1 May 2021. It brings to a close more than 13 years of directing the national culture fund, which manages a budget of 62 million euros.
Personally, Post can look back on a turbulent and challenging period. ‘The Fund must remain responsive at all times to developments in the sector and to political realities. I have hugely enjoyed working on behalf of a performing arts sector that is of great value and significance to society. I am very sorry to see how cultural life has been brought to a virtual standstill by the corona pandemic, but I also see lots of resilience and inventiveness in the sector. And that’s a source of hope and confidence for the future.’ Post sees the start of the new cultural policy period as the right moment to pass the baton to her successor. ‘I leave behind a passionate organisation with many skilled staff members.’
The Performing Arts Fund NL is the national culture fund for music, music theatre, dance, theatre and festivals in the Nerherlands. On behalf of the national government, the Fund provides support to all forms of professional performing arts. The Supervisory Board will soon start the recruitment procedure for a new director.
